    javax.microedition.media.MediaException

    I tried the example given in
    http://developers.sun.com/mobility/m...icles/picture/ SnapperMIDlet

    In the emulator it runs properly.
    But, when I put my jar file in LG KP500 and press on the camera button it throws an exception
    javax.microedition.media.MediaException: There is no matching DataSource.locator:capture://video

    Now, I inserted the jar file in nokia 6500. This time it shows the camera when camera button is pressed. But, when I press on capture button it throws a different exception
    javax.microedition.media.MediaException: only capture://image..

    How do I solve this?

    thanks

    Re: javax.microedition.media.MediaException

    Hello csckid,

    for taking photo snapshots, Nokia 6500 uses locator capture://image instead of capture://video. So accordingly one needs to change this

    Manager.createPlayer("capture://video");

    to this

    Manager.createPlayer("capture://image");

    Regarding the LG device, based on the description it seems that that device also has got same kind issue with locator. In case you cannot receive more information on how this could be resolve on these discussion boards forums, I'd like to suggest you to ask about this on LG's own developer discussion forums.

    Re: javax.microedition.media.MediaException

    LG KP 500 is not fully compliant with video control, see this link which might cause this:

    http://developer.lgmobile.com/docume...#_Toc225308898

    thats y it might support these locator.

    thanks,
    Ekta
