    Re: Change Application name

When you are generating release from .pkg file, at that time apply other name or rename..
    Best regards,

    Re: Change Application name

Where you have created that project ,

I think in Qt creator or in the Carbide C++ or in the Qt SDK,

You have that copy there in the PC ,Just change the name and make GCCE release from the .pkg file from build configuration.

    Best regards,

    Re: Change Application name

    Hi,

Changing the application name is not enough if you want to have parallel installs of the same application.

First, you'll of course have to change the name (TARGET in pro file). The application name (caption) doesn't actually have to be unique in Symbian, all that matters is that names of the files placed under /sys/bin are unique so that there will be no name clashes during installation. As qmake generates those filenames based on TARGET name, changing that will give you different file names as well.

Second, UID (TARGET.UID3 in pro file) has to be changed.

Third, if you use any other resource/data files that are deployed to any other location that the application's private folder, their names have to changed as well - again, to avoid name clashes during install.

After these changes, run qmake to regenerate makefiles and rebuild the project.
