    Various quetsions on the emulator's capabilities

    Hi all,

    I am currently porting an application to Symbian^3. This application already runs successfully on IphoneOS, Android, WinCE, Windows, Linux, Linux embedded.

    The application makes a very intensive usage of OpenGLES. I managed to compile it using WINSCW compiler for the simulator. But running it fails because of low GPU and RAM memory in the Epoc32 emulator. So here come my questions:

    - Why is the emulator limited to maximum 128MB RAM size, when the Nokia N8 has 256 ? (and it is generally admitted that emulated versions of application consume more memory for debugging purposes)
    - What is the emulator's GPU memory size ? Is it configurable ? I feel that the N8 will handle more GPU memory and extensions (especially PowerVR extensions) than the emulator.

    What would it take to get an emulator that matches N8 capabilities ?

    you should not that it is a emulator not a simulator.

    Thanks, I too can play on words, but this doesn't help a tiny bit.

    As you can see, I've used the word emulator everywhere else in my post, if only you had read it.

    want i meant emulator is not currently capable of simulating to really hardware ... hopefully the next generation of simulator that is in development might be able to do what you wanted .

    till then no settings to simulate the hardware.
