    Question Build Development environment

    Dear all:

I need to re-build the development environment for maemo on Ubuntu9.10 AGAIN since my hard drive was dead.

I wanna to develope a Qt camera application for N900.
But I am quite confused by those SDK packages and the relation between them.
Especially mameo 5 SDK and Nokia Qt SDK.
I think they are two seperating things can both exists on my ubuntu.
And Scratchbox for mameo 5 sdk is just like Simulator for Qt creator.
    Am I right?
Would they affect each other ?

I listed down what I think it should be in sequence.
Maybe you would give me some advise.

    1.sudo apt-get install gcc
    2.sudo apt-get install g++

    For Qt creator environment:
    3. Nokia Qt SDK http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.n...ia_Qt_SDK.html
    4. Setting Up Development Environment for Maemo file:///home/stone/NokiaQtSDK/readme/creator-developing-maemo.html ---> I can't finish this since no maemo tabpage is shown.
    5.install MADDE?

    For Maemo 5 SDK
    3. install Mameo 5 SDk
    4. install qt on maemo 5 sdk. http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...in_Maemo_5_SDK
    5.Qt for maemo 5 running on Nokia 900. http://qt.nokia.com/products/platform/maemo
    6. install MADDE?

    Re: Build Development environment

Yes. Nokia Qt SDK and Maemo SDK serve for the same purpose. However, since you are planning to use gdigicam library and it's not available in Nokia Qt SDK and there is no
way to install it there, your choice is Maemo SDK. MADDE is part of Nokia Qt SDK and used for Maemo cross-compilation there.

    Re: Build Development environment

Dear Daniil, Thanks a lot for your help!
So only Qt library can be used in Qt creator?
If I'll use other package or library, I should always go with Maemo SDK.
    Am I right?

Qt Creator is only IDE, but Nokia Qt SDK contains only limited selection of libraries and intended for pure Qt development.

It depends on library. But for non-Qt related libraries this is the most likely true.
