    preprocessing support ?

When we create a new MIDlet project, we can choose whether we want to enable preprocessing support or not.
What is the purpose of choosing that?

While working with applications where we want to support different devices and then put different codelets based on different target devices in the main codebase - we put some pre-processers in the main code - so that we can maintain a single code base for our complete application - and use selective compiling of source code based on these pre-processors to generate a build for a selected target device.
    Thanks,

I strongly recommend you avoid using preprocessors in Java. They're a great way to make your code more complicated, harder to read, debug and maintain. There's always a better way...
