Question Updating jar file without replacing

    Hi,

I need to updating the jar file within a application and without replacing existing jar.
I upload the new version of jar file into web service.
And I'm using platforRequest(url), passing the web service url. Here that specified jar file was downloaded and close the current application and fully replaced with existing jar file and installed again.
But i need to update within the application without closing the application. Im using huge amount of textfiles in my application. I need to update these textfiles only.

How its possible to updating the jar without replacing?
    Bharath... :)

    Hi bhakki,

It is directly not possible , If I understood your problem correctly, If you are using the more test files in your application why are you using those what kind of a data it is there in that ? After reading those file will you be putting the data in to the record store, or will you be reading the file each and every time when the application starts? If you are transforming your file data in to the rms or local file system then you can do .

When you wan to change the files then send those file fo the client . In the client you should have a logic like to parse the text file remove the old rms or file in the local system and create the required information.

Re: Updating jar file without replacing

    Hi Bharath,
If you want do like that At the application start up Fist time you need to write your file information in to the RMS , or FileSystem using jsr75. From next time onwords you need to refer to the fies which are there in the Filesystem or RMS . or what you can do is at the application stats It will request to the server to get those file In that process get the all the dat you required and write in to RMS or Filesytem . If you wnat to do update of the files follow the same process.

    Hope it will helps you

    Thanks bhanuchandar.
Is it possible to handle huge data's with RMS for reading and writing purpose?
I think file system is better.
But If i storing the data by using file system. I think user have the chance to delete the data's by manually or mistakely.
    Is it right?

    Hi,
Ya but , There is no other options, In RMS you cant save more data. If you are using the file system you need to worry about the signing and security questions
