Question how to hangup incoming call silently?

    hi,

I want to implement the blacklist function in s60 3rd.
In my program, i use CTelephony::NotifyChange() to register CTelephony::EVoiceLineStatusChange event.
when CTelephony::EStatusRinging event happens, i use RMobileCall::HangUp() to hangup the incoming call.
the result is: native imcoming call notice dialog will emerge for one second, and then the incoming call is hanged up.

what i want is to hangup the imcoming call silently(without vibrate, ring and native notice dialog).
anyone can kindly help me ?

    thanks

    1. are you doing any processing after CTelephony::EStatusRinging() and RMobileCall::HangUp().
    2. Are you using a UI application ?

    1. just call CTelephony::NotifyChange() again to coninue register incoming cal event
    2. yes. no matter the ui application is foreground or not, native imcoming call notice dialog will emerge.

I suggest you use a Non-UI application, what i experinaced is getting telephony/sms events are faster in console appls then a UI applicaton. keep updaing if that works for you too.

I never seen any difference on doing ti in UI app or non-UI app, basically one of the things most often causing the delay is the unnessessary processing between getting the call event and actually doign the hang-up, so I would consider checking what is done there.

    Hi JackSu,

I'm quite interested since I'm trying to do the same on a 3rd edition device and i'm a total beginner.
So far i have just tried to get familiar with CTelephony, even if as you said you have to answer the call and then reject it.

Any help ,example code or the whole code already implemented will be much appreciated =)

    Thanks

search in wiki there are lot fo example code to listen a call and reject the call through Ctelephony, and if you want to disconnect the call without answering CTelephony does not help you, for this you need to use AT command CHUP or trap the red key, you can get the help from wiki for the same.
    Regards,
    Amit
