    Can I add user defined settings/properties to my J2ME application

    Hello , I had created a midlet and it is working fine.
    I am packaging a configurations text file along with the jar
    But , now instead of packaging the configurations text file in the jar , i want to add them through application settings(in installed applications ) and then use those configurations through code
    please , let me know if there is any way to add my own settings/properties to the application ?
    Thanks in advance

    Welcome to Foum Nokia Discussion Board...
    What kind of your own settings/properties you want to add to the application, please mention here?

    If you are talking about to change the applcaition's own setting then I suspect if can be done once the app gets installed on the device.
    Thanks with Regards,

    HI raj,

    my application needs some integer values which I consider as timer interval
    so i want to set them through application settings in mobile(in installed applications) and read through the java code

    Hi chams,
    In the jad file you can add the propety like
    interval=12345
    In your code you can retrieve like
    MIDlet.getAppProperty("interval")

    Hi chams,
    You can't do that for that you need to save that in RMS.
