Partnership to access protected or private functions?

    Hi,

We're students that are developing a Symbian Nokia S60 3rd Ed. FP1 Application for our thesis.

Our thesis is to make a recycle bin application. We would like to tap on the events from deletion in gallery or using the file manager which are preinstalled in the phone. Is there a way to do that?

Do we still need partnership? If we do, is there any available for students like us?

    Thanks,

    Jin

If there was an easy way to implement "recycle bin" application on any version of Symbian, then I would imagine that during its 12 year long history (or so), one would already have been written.

Yes, I agree with your answer.

Does this mean, there is no way to do that?

it means that it propably is not really feasible, though most likely it would be possible. You could maybe search for older threads on the topic and see what has been discussed in them.

Well, I have done the search.

I found out there is a documentation about System Initiated Events, which yucca said.

But there were no events about detecting something that is being deleted.
