    Question creating thumbnail preview

    Hi all,

I tried to create thumbnail preview for image and video file but to find there are no API to get the first frame of a video file. The QVideoFrame class provides a representation of a frame of video data so I guess there should be an access to get the first frame. I tried QMovie but to find it is just used for gif, and i also tried QMediaPlayer but still got no ideas. Please let me know if you have any solutions for that.

    Thanks

    Dong

    Re: creating thumbnail preview

Phonon is the multimedia framework used by KDE and Qt.

Developed originally by KDE to replace the aging aRts, Phonon was adopted by Qt in verson 4.4.0 as its official multimedia framework. Since then, Phonon releases have been interleaved between KDE and Qt

The latest release is Phonon 4.4.2.

    Re: creating thumbnail preview

I found thumbnailmanager.lib, which I can use to get video thumbnail. However, the thumbnailmanager has not been included in symbian^3 SDK by now, so you will have to find it in PDK if you need it. Please let me know if you need any help.

rahulvala, thanks a lot for your post
