    Unhappy Video capture: can't display the video across full width on Nokia 5130, 2700

    I am trying to capture video.
    But the area in which the video is displayed while recording is very small.
    Too small.

    I would like to use the full width available/or fullscreen.
    I have tried the setDisplaySize() and setDisplayFullScreen() of no avail.

    I use Canvas to display the video with the display mode as USE_DIRECT_VIDEO.

    This happens on Nokia 5130, 2700, and 6303.
    But I am able to get a full width on Nokia N73, N70, 7610 Supernova with the same code.

    Is this a handset specific issue?
    Is there a workaround?

    Code:
    player = Manager.createPlayer("capture://video");
    player.addPlayerListener(this);
    player.realize();
    videoControl = (VideoControl)player.getControl("VideoControl");
    if (videoControl != null){
    	videoControl.initDisplayMode(VideoControl.USE_DIRECT_VIDEO, canvas);
    	videoControl.setDisplayLocation(0,0);
    	videoControl.setDisplaySize(canvas.getWidth(),canvas.getHeight());
    	//videoControl.setDisplayFullScreen(true);
    	videoControl.setVisible(true);
    }
    player.start();
    It would be great if someone could give me an insight.

    Thanks,
    Sylvan

    Re: Video capture: can't display the video across full width on Nokia 5130, 2700

    i am facing same problem

    following code works on S60 series but not working in S40 series

    code return me null

    byte[] photo = videoControl.getSnapshot("encoding=jpeg&quality=100&width=300&height=300");

    and i lave last option to use following code which gives lesser quality and small size image

    byte[] photo = videoControl.getSnapshot(null);

    can anyone suggest what is wrong with S40 or my code???

    Thanks,
    Mihir

    I think my code works on series 40 6th edition phones and series 60 phones
    Please excuse my initial comment where I mentioned that it doesn't work on 6303. It does.

    @mihirpalkhiwala:
    The problem might be in the width and height being in square format.
    Only certain width and heights work, in my experience: in the ratio of 4:3
    Or the encoding: Try image/jpg instead of jpeg
    In my code this encoding works: encoding=image/jpg&width=240&height=320&quality=60
