Re: J2me client and j2ee server application

If you have deployed the J2ee server app on a public IP such that it is reachable from any computer connected to Internet from outside your LAN/WAN, then you can test your Midlet app on a real device.

If you have installed it on the local server or your your OWN system, just download SUN WTK and deploy the Midlet in the emulator running on your system and try to access the server with Http usl start localhost or loacl ip of your system on which the server is running.

Re: J2me client and j2ee server application

Midlet will be deployed on client Device (nokia phone), you need to have SUN WTK or any Nokia SDK installed on your system which can make the final deployable Midlet application in for a JAR & JAD file can be installed on Nokia Phone by sending it over Bluetooth or using Nokia PC Suite.

Midlet running on the phone, will communicate to the server via internet (thu GPRS or wifi), making a network connection to the public IP or URI of your server.

Re: J2me client and j2ee server application

    thanks.....

as i understand that servlet & dartabase is enough on web server(publicly accessible).

midlet .jad and. jar file should be deploy on nokia phones.

after that as client opens application on his nokia phone (has internet accessiblity), application take (get) information that is available on server side(servlet)...

    is it correct or not??????????

YES, you are correct... does it work or you are still stuck ?

You can also test on Nokia device emulator, running the Midlet JAD/JAR on it, on a computer thats connected to internet.

Re: J2me client and j2ee server application

You will need to have a server side component, to which you will connect using your j2me midlet - and do the required database operation using SQL from it.
