Series 60 - accessing SIM cards

From my understanding, Series 60 uses the Symbian OS and supports J2ME and SyncML as well.

Given that, is that a way either via Symbian C++ API or the J2ME API that one can access the data on the SIM card. eg. contact on the phone book, calendar etc.

SyncML claims to provide an easy means to backup data, how does it relate to the Symbian API and the J2ME API.

    Thanks

    Hello,

There is no API to access SIM directory directly, but there are C++ APIs to access contacts database in the phone's memory as well as calendar data. As far as I know that's not possible with J2ME. I am not really familiar with SyncML, so I copy this thread to Connectivity / SyncML discussion board.

    Best Regards,
