    Deploying data files

    I have a project which includes a large number of data files (c. 100). Following the Wiki guidelines for deploying files works just fine for device builds (I'm deploying to the app private directory):

    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...t_package_file

    However, for the Symbian emulator build (S60 5th SDK), the files defined by the DEPLOYMENT keyword are dropped into
    epoc32\winscw\!\.... i.e. the "!" isn't being replaced with the 'install drive'.

    Now, I could just use the wiki instructions for deploying files to the emulator:

    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...Qt_for_Symbian

    ...but it doesn't support wildcards, so I'd have hand-add all my files and update the .pro whenever a file is added/removed. I'd like to avoid this and avoid having to use a script .

    Anyone managed to deploy files in QT to both emulator and device consistently/simply?

    Re: Deploying data files

    Code:
        html.sources = "html/en"
    	html.sources += "html/css"
    	html.sources += "html/js"
        html.path = ./html/
        DEPLOYMENT += html
    The above works for us.

    Thanks, that did the trick - the Wiki article is misleading, in that '!' doesn't work, but you don't need it in the end.

    The DEPLOYMENT variable only deploys to existing folders.

    Or is there a qmake function that can create a directory before i deploy the file, since DEPLOYMENT doesnt include this functionality?

    Re: Deploying data files

    In the example given at #2, the files will be deployed in application's directoy (!:\private\SID\), in the \html subdirectory (as per html.path component), which is created first (since there's no way it would exist before the application is installed).
