    carbide.c++ v2.3 on 64-bit ?

    Hi guys,

    Can I get carbide.c++ v2.3, sdk (S60 5th ed.) and emulator to work on a 64-bit laptop?

    This is really important for me to know right now.

    And also can I work with other development tools like visual studio on that machine?

    Thanks.

    It works, though it may require some additional configuration.
    Searching for 64 may reveal some related discussions. Vista may also be a good search query, just do not apply everything on Windows 7 (I assume you have Windows 7, just the number 7 may not be specific enough for a search). Also check the Wiki (Community panel in the top-right region).
    And the generic rule for installing these tools on Windows 7: always right-click+Run as Adminstrator.
    EDIT: not 64, but still related: http://blogs.forum.nokia.com/blog/lu...t-on-windows-7

    Theoretically you can. Inside the IDE you can customize the environment variables, so chances for accidental usage of parts of the other toolchain can be eliminated. In case of command line builds, you may have to create some custom batch files for the Symbian toolchain, something similar to vsvars32.bat in case of VS.
