    Convert Open File dialog to native interface on Symbian

    I'm modifying the example SyntaxHighlighter project that comes with QT Creator and using it on Symbian, but the Open File dialog is just awful. How can I change it to use the native Symbian open file interface?

    Cheers

    Make sure you didn't set QFileDialog:ontUseNativeDialog.

    I can't find any parameters like that in the code. The method is as follows:

    void MainWindow:penFile(const QString &path)
    {
    QString fileName = path;

    if (fileName.isNull())
    fileName = QFileDialog::getOpenFileName(this,
    tr("Open File"), "", "C++ Files (*.*)");

    if (!fileName.isEmpty()) {
    QFile file(fileName);
    if (file.open(QFile::ReadOnly | QFile::Text))
    editor->setPlainText(file.readAll());
    }
    }

    Thanks, yes, I've read that. I couldn't really find anything that explains why it's not showing the native OpenFile Dialog though.

    Any pointers?

    Anyone else? I can't be the only person to discover that the QT open file dialog is almost unusable on symbian.

    Or is it possible to get the AVKON API in QT Creator and use the file dialogs from that?

    My understanding, though, is that AVKON is dead and unsupported, so surely there is a decent QT replacement for the AVKON dialogs.
