Rendering of gif-files in XHTML-page with Nokia 3650

Solid colors in gif-files, even when created using web safe colors, seem to render quite badly with Nokia 3650.

If you open the image file and view them seperately, they view correctly, but when embedded in XHTML page, the colors don't render correctly (sometimes the color is not the same as background color stated with CSS, and sometimes the color doesn't seem to be _solid_ but rather dotted/dithered).

    Help?

The only solution to this is to use full 256 (8bit) websafe palette. This way the browser won't dither the image. Bad thing is this makes gif files signifcantly larger (especially small ones). /J
