    bldmake returned with exit value = 2

    Hi,

    I just installed the following things in sequence in my machine running windows vista:

    1.> ActivePerl-5.10.0.1002-MSWin32-x86-283697
    2.> Carbide C++ ver. 2.3
    3.> S60 3rd MR and S60 5th Edition

    But when i created a new project and tried building it i got the following error:

    bldmake returned with exit value = 2

    erroneous part of the output from the console window is this :
    ***Invoking bldmake command
    perl.exe -S bldmake.pl bldfiles winscw
    Sorry, \epoc32\tools\bldmake.bat is not supported in this release. Please use a different
    device. Use 'devices' to view the available devices.

    I have tried re-installing the softwares but i am getting the same error.
    what do you think is the problem?

    On a first note, uninstall that ActivePerl 5.10.0 version and install this recommended version: ActivePerl 5.6.1 Build 635

    If the problem still persists then list your problem here.

    Re: bldmake returned with exit value = 2

    Hi,

    i un-installed everything the perl, the carbide and all the sdks and restarted my pc and installed the following in sequence:

    1.> ActivePerl-5.6.1.635-MSWin32-x86
    2.> Carbide C++ v2.0
    3.> S60 3rd edition MR

    now, i am getting the following 2 errors:
    - bldmake returned with exit value = 9
    - EPOCROOT environment variable must be capitalised

    following is the erroneous output from the console window:
    EPOCROOT environment variable must be capitalised
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at C:\Symbian\9.1\S60_3rd_MR_3\epoc32\tools\/E32env.pm line 52.
    Compilation failed in require at C:\Symbian\9.1\S60_3rd_MR_3\epoc32\tools/bldmake.pl line 28.
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at C:\Symbian\9.1\S60_3rd_MR_3\epoc32\tools/bldmake.pl line 28.

    I have done this several times but i don't know what is wrong this time....can anyone suggest a sure shot solution?

    thank you

    Re: bldmake returned with exit value = 2

    You can find some ideas about Vista in the Wiki (search for vista). Everything should be installed with right-click+Run as Administrator for example.
    It should not matter, but the latest version of Carbide.c++ is 2.6 (you can download 2.3, and it can update itself).
