Question wlan accesspoint scanning possible ?

Is it possible to scan for wlanaccesspoints in python ?

i mean if you creat a socket connection like this:
    s = socket.socket(....)

it shows up automaticly a wlanaccesspoint selection list
but i want to scan automaticly for wlan spots and connect automaticly to a specific one and that seems to be impossible.
    Or am i wrong ?

Re: wlan accesspoint scanning possible ?

Meaning of scanning : A mobile device find its network or address in different location.

There may be so many network or addresses present in the location area, how can it connect to particular WLAN every time.

But when it connect to a WLAN one time it will save the address, from the next time you need to click on the name of it for the confirmation.

See this two articles for scanning of WLAN :

Re: wlan accesspoint scanning possible ?

yeah i know those 2 links but the problem is like this, you maybe missunderstood me a lil bit:

apid = socket.select_access_point() #brings up the selection list for ALL accesspoints even those which are not available like stored wlan accesspoints...
s = socket.socket(....) #brings up new accesspoints that are active and have an internet connection 100% except you have no cash if you chose data bearer or the wlan accesspoint is locked

but what i need is s = socket.socket(....) like output without selectionlist... the socket module shoud give a list with accesspoints like socket.access_points() but curently active onces not allready stored ages ago.

    like output without selectionlist...
This script in the below link allows setting a default Access Point for connecting to the internet which omits the task of always manually selecting an Access Point each time when you open a Python script that connects to the internet.

    See this link : http://www.mobilenin.com/pys60/resou...ccess_point.py

Re: wlan accesspoint scanning possible ?

i know this i'd like to have no GUI interaction ( no user should be needed to select any accesspoint at any time ).
    this would look like this:

    1. scan currently active accesspoints like free wlan spots
    2. select ( via script not via user input ) one and connect to it
    3. rest of code ....

in 2. must be the possibility to connect to any accesspoint that can be found not only the reinstalled ones

Re: wlan accesspoint scanning possible ?

If there are more WLAN access point, then it is not advisable to select any of the WLAN access point without confirmation of the user,

If we set default access point, then it is not asking for the choices.
