NLS missing message/unused message warnings...Pls. help

    Hi,

Based on my experience on the Unix OS, tried renaming my project file with _orig extension, so that I could copy the folder sent to me by email by a forum expert, fixing the issues in my resource files. This folder had the same name as the original folder and hence the reaming.
But when I started Carbide C++ it reported a bunch of NIS missing message warnings. So reverted the original folder, but still some warnings persist:

    hi,

delete the temp files generated by carbide, ex: .cproject and .project
    and reimport the project
and also please understant the basic framework of symbian.
You cannot jump directly into coding without knowing the architecture and grammer and syntax of the language
    UID2 KUidApp

i dont see KUIDAPP defined in your code in .mmp file
the UID2 must be the platform uid ex : 0x100039CE for s60 and UIQ it will be different depends on OEM.

Re: NLS missing message/unused message warnings...Pls. help

    Hi,
Now when I compile the code I get a bunch of errors related to appinfo.rh file, which is part of the SDK. There errors were not shown previously. I am sure I have introduced a major problem by renaming and subsequently un-renaming the project file. Please help me resolve this. Here is the error log:

    Hi Mateen,

I had mentioned KUIDAPP in my .mmp file
Here is the segment of the file for your reference:
    TARGET CardGameGUIAppVer1.exe
    TARGETTYPE exe
    UID2 KUidApp
    UID3 0xE0000001

But I accept that the syntax should have been
    UID KUidApp 0xE0000001

    regards
    Vin

You could have considered checking the last post in http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...r-in-.mbg-file instead of starting a new thread. In that case you would not post the same weird code 18 hours later.

You could still try building HelloWorldBasic just to see if the installation of the SDK and the other tools works fine.

First of all, I did not post the 'wierd code' as you so kindly indicated in your last post. it would help if you could read others postings before posting your response. Having said that, I don 't think I have seen either you or others responding meaningfully why I must be getting errors in system specific files, which are supposed to compile without errors. I would appreciate if there could be an approach to problems reported in the list in the spirit of encouraging and helping novices like me in the use of the os, rather than treating queries like necessary evil.
I did try and compile HelloWorldbasic and it compiled without any issues. But that still does not address the problem that I have. I have checked my #include statements against the relevant files in the HelloWorldbasic project and I do not see any difference.
If you can point to the probable cause of this error, it would be appreciated.

I could compile the code successfully. I am not positive about the casue of the errors in the system files, but a guess is that the system files were not included in the correct order.
