    Disk activity

Is there a way to check the disk activity? I want to postpone the IO in my app, if there is too much disk activity

    Thanks,
    Budugu

I do not know if there is an API for checking how busy the File Server is, but it definitely matters a lot if you can collect 20-30 kilobytes of data and write it in a single step.

    Re: Disk activity

I am doing some sqlite DB read/write operations which are very slow when there is some background disk activity, sometimes one query takes around 2 to 3 secs which normally takes 200ms to 400ms. And bulk updation is done in a transaction so sqlite should take care of the 20-30kb buffering right.

these db operations can be done later if they are going to slow down the application, the main thing is I don't want my application to be blocked in one query unnecessarily.
