Need help in GUI design carbide C++ project

    Hello,

I am trying to create the GUI designer for the carbide c++ symbian project. I just selected the gui specific element. When I build the project on the emulator target I get the following error messages. I am just trying to build the skeleton code which is generated by the carbide c++ IDE. I have not put any of my code here.

    .\src\TestContainerView.cpp:224: undefined identifier 'R_TEST_CONTAINER_TITLE_RESOURCE'
    ..\src\TestContainerView.cpp:266: undefined identifier 'R_TEST_CONTAINER_CONF_QUERY1'
    ..\src\TestSettingItemListView.cpp:90: undefined identifier 'R_TEST_SETTING_ITEM_LIST_TEST_SETTING_ITEM_LIST_VIEW'
    ..\src\TestSettingItemListView.cpp:103: undefined identifier 'ETestSettingItemListViewId'
    ..\src\TestSettingItemListView.cpp:157: undefined identifier 'R_TEST_SETTING_ITEM_LIST_TEST_SETTING_ITEM_LIST'
    ..\src\TestSettingItemListView.cpp:230: undefined identifier 'R_TEST_SETTING_ITEM_LIST_TITLE_RESOURCE'
    ..\src\TestSettingItemListView.cpp:273: undefined identifier 'R_TEST_SETTING_ITEM_LIST_CONF_QUERY1'

Please let me know is there anything that I am missing here. I am new to GUI & symbian environment.

    Regards,
    Rajeev

Re: Need help in GUI design carbide C++ project

The R_SOMETHING identifiers come from various .rsg files (which are generated by the resource compiler)
    - check if the related .rsg files are actually #include-d in the given .cpp files
    - read a bit back in the build output, to see if there are some problems with the resource files (RCOMP usually appears in such error messages)
Since it is about experimentation, it may be better to use an iterative approach, add one thing at a time and see if the generated code still builds, how it runs, etc., then add the next thing.
