Question There was a problem downloading the content. Error code: 0

    Hi,
I have downloaded WebTV template data from
    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...nnels_with_you!
After install it was working fine on my N8. Then I decided to modify setting.js
I have edited the line 24 and now it looks like this.
    var RSS_URL = "http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12261738/demo.rss";
I have also changed the apps icon (icon.png file) and edited Info.plist file. I have changed
    <key>DisplayName</key>
    <string>TomoTV</string>
    <key>Identifier</key>
    <string>com.nokia.forum.webtv.tomo.widget</string>

After this I have ziped everything and renamed it to wgz. I install it to my N8. The Icon and app name has changed successfully. App asks me "Allow connection to network". I choose Yes. After this I get the Security warning "Allow application to access user data?" and I choose Allow for this session. I see WebTV's template graphics and a pop up "There was a problem downloading the content. Error code: 0" and a OK button. When I click it I'm kicked out of the app.
Am I doing something wrong here?

    Hi Lucarocchi,
Thanks for your reply. I have moved rss file and the video files from the local demo folder to my public Dropox folder. This means that everything (movie files, jpeg and RSS) from local demo folder should be available on the web on the link
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12261738/
I don' understand why is the RSS working for you and the movies don't work.
    Movies are available on:
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12261738/3720.FLV
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12261738/N8.FLV
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12261738/Rock.FLV

For me it sill doesn't load even the RSS.

i was able to reproduce your error in some ways

There was a problem downloading the content.
    Error code: 0
    Ok

it happens to me if i test the app to your rss from the web... i mean i have deployed webtv unzipped on a website
in such scenario javascript can't get the rss because of cross domain browser policy ... and it returns empty rss

That should not happens anyway on the device because there is not restriction policy in the wgz

Just to make sure ...have you
    <key>AllowNetworkAccess</key>
    in your Info.plist ?

Re: There was a problem downloading the content. Error code: 0

    Hi,
I am using N8 for testing. I am not using the simulator.
I have checked my Info.plist and it does contain
    <key>AllowNetworkAccess</key>
    <true/>
So it should be able to access network.

Debug was set to False. Now I have set it to True. Thanks for the suggestion. Is there some kind of log file? the text disappears from the screen too fast. I have managed to capture the screens
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12261738/Scr000084.jpg
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12261738/Scr000085.jpg

From these screenshots I can read:
    Download succeeded, start parsing RSS...
    Download failed, show alert
    gotoScreen screen to: video_containter
    Switch to screen to: video_containter

----There is a part missing here----
    Network connection changed: UNKNOWN
    Calling player to updateConnectionMode: unknoen
    Network status changed in ConnectionMonitor
    Network status changed in ConnectionMonitor
    Network status changed in ConnectionMonitor

So I guess it does download RSS, but there is Download failed statement. It doesn't say during which download it failed...

Reboot of my N8 solved this issue. The strange thing is I was able to surf the web using Nokia's web browser, but wasn't able to use my webTv app.
I really don't know what was the problem.

strange... been developing my own webtvwidget for N8... I got the same problem on my device the first time I installed it... but once reinstalled and rebooted, all works perfectly... the really strange thing is that all my home screens theme was set back to default so need to set it again, i have doubt of reinstalling it again on my device... maybe the safest way to test this again is to use deviceanywhere

I tried to install this app on my friends N8 same errror happened and need to reboot to make it work... Any turn around for this? I was planning to add an alert script before the error occur (before reading the rss) to alert to user to reboot the device if theres an error, and notify them that it may set thier themes to default... But i think this is not good ^_^... Still thinking what cause it and how to make it work... Will do some more test tomorrow
