    VNC for devices and pc

Is there VNC client/server application available for Nokia devices ?
VNC application remotely controls devices via WLAN, Bluetooth or USB connection.
VNC shows phone's userinterface on the desktop computer. So you can
push buttons and write texts on real device from VNC application.

VNC is needed when on-device debugging Qt-application running on the phone,
but USB cable is too short and computer connected with device is too
    far away from my hands.

VNC is not needed if it is possible to on-device dubug Qt-application via
Bluetooth or WLAN. But seems that on-device debugging is possible only
    via physical USB connection.

When you do on the device debugging it will ask you for the comport either by USB or by Bluetooth.

    See here : http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...ng_with_AppTRK

Otherwise you have to select the available COMport : http://www.forum.nokia.com/Develop/Q...d/Step_3.xhtml

    Best regards,

Seems that on-device debugging from Nokia Qt SDK to S60 3.1 device via Bluetooth or WLAN connection is not working.
Any way, i can buy longer USB cable (current USB cable's lenght is about 20 cm).

But what is maximum length for USB cable between computer and device.

USB Cable HQ shielded aka DKE-2 is two feet, but could be 1 metre 3feet. USB2 is about 2feet and USB1 (25% speed USB2) is about 6feet (2 metres). Be careful with cables as they are *NOT* equal, connectors and cable type have huge effect on performance.

Unshielded printer cables, will cause misery. Nokia has many USB cables and for good reason!!!!.Get the right one for your phone as there is circuitry in the USB/PC end to drive the phone, and they power the charger. If you have the wrong power going to the phone you could cause damage to phone. Ever thought about using a HQ USB to USB extender cable
    Thanks
    Jim

Ok. It's better to raise the computer from the floor on the desk
and use the original 0,2 meter USB cable delivered with E71 device.
    ( 0,2 meters = ~ 0,66 feet). 1 meter (100cm=1meter=3,3 feet) cable
is almost too long. Cable needs to be about 1,5 meters long.

    Nice one

DKE-2 won't fit to E71 as it has the more bulkier USB mini connector.
I have Nokia CA-101 USB cable that works for debugging and is long enough to reach the table.
