I foolowed the steps from here http://blogs.forum.nokia.com/blog/ov.../qt-content-qa

    Re: Symbian Signed Type ?!

I understood that "symbian signed for Nokia" is some sort of program that involves a 3rd party testing house. Please , correnct me if I am wrong since I think I checked "NONE"

I know... Now I'm thinking of should I go and edit my content, since it is still pending... Then again, they should know the signing type from the naming convention that their certification process creates...

    Re: Symbian Signed Type ?!

I have used "Symbian Signed for Nokia" all the time for the free symbian signing. So I think it's correct.

    Re: Symbian Signed Type ?!

    little more...:

"There are basically two cases when application needs to be submitted via Symbian Signed for Nokia (this is an extra testing service on top of the basic Certified Signed):

    * Application is going to be embedded to Nokia device sales package.
    * Application is for S60 3rd Edition or later (that has Platform Security in place) and requires some manufaturer approved, sensitive Capabilities (AllFiles, DRM, TCB). "

is what it says on page:
    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...or_Nokia_tests

    confusing....

    Re: Symbian Signed Type ?!

    bare with me, once more

"4. Ovi Publisher submits their app (unsigned SIS file with the UID provided) to the Ovi Publish tool."

    is written on: http://www.forum.nokia.com/Distribut..._signing.xhtml

    and

"Once you have completed your development and testing of your apps, upload the unsigned version to Ovi Publish using the Nokia provided UID – Only this UID will be accepted for unsigned content."

on the publishing main page once you have registered as a publisher. So I guess setting the "symbian signed type" to "none" should be ok as well?

    Dear publisher,
Yes you can select either None or Symbian signed for Nokia in this case for now. We will remove the confusing selection in future release.
