Smile Supported language and distribution regions

    Hello,

I've written app that supports only one language so far (non-english). During the QA process I first had to change the supported language, which is OK (by mistake I set language-neutral) but now I have to also select the limited region of distribution. Isn't that illogical? I mean, say app supports only Italian language, then according to the rules I have to select regions that have Italian language pre-installed on the phone. But what about all Italians live in any other country? They have no chance to download the app just because that region has no Italian language pre-installed. I don't use my native language as default on my phone because it's not supported, but I would download app that has content in language I understand.

Edit: Never mind, I've got an explanation of the situation from OVI support team, this issue on their todo list

    hi Pippo,
sorry if I am a "smartass" now. But, PLEASE, get English localization done ASAP.

My experience shows that every language you add has huge effects on sales and downloads! English translators / speakers are dirt cheap (teachers!!!), and you really have nothing to loose here.

    Hi tamhanna ,

Yes, I'm planning to add English in next version, I was simply very surprised by the decision to distribute the app with certain language in a very limited area

    Hi,
to be honest: you probably hit one of these cases where, as they say, no law is written because it was never needed before.

So is all I can add, and apologize for the effort

    Tam
