    Qt Creator will not build for device: SYSTEMINCLUDE path not found

    A build for the simulator works fine but for the device I get numerous error similar to:
    warning: SYSTEMINCLUDE path "\NokiaQtSDK\Symbian\SDK\epoc32\include\osextensions\stdapis\" not found

    While I am using 2.0.94, I suspect the problem is either not placing these in the expected directories or not setting a PATH correctly. Any suggestions please? Thanks

    Note that message is just warning. In qt environment warnings are not critical.
    Check your working directory, you may have alreade built sis file there.

    I seem to recall those are "normal" error messages. Lessee....

    Yep, "normal".

    Thank you; it's certainly encouraging to know it's normal, but I still don't have the .sis file!
    I get the impression that, under 2.0.94, build does not create the sis file. It is "deploy" that will create it, and the only messages are the string of "not found" and the final: :-1: error: SIS creation failed!

    I don't know about Qt Creator, but under Carbide you need to configure the Build Configuration in the properties of the project in order to get a sis file. (And, of course, you need to set the build target to be the phone, vs the simulator.)

    Re: Qt Creator will not build for device: SYSTEMINCLUDE path not found

    In QtCreator's project form i have following settings
    (i do not know anything about those switches) :

    Configuration : Release
    Qt version : Qt for Symbian Devices (Nokia Qt SDK)
    Tool chain : GCCE

    Build Steps :

    qmake: qmake.exe SocketClient.pro -r -spec symbian-abld -after OBJECTS_DIR=obj MOC_DIR=moc UI_DIR=ui RCC_DIR=rcc CONFIG+=release
    Make: make.exe -w in C:\MyQtAppSymbian\SocketClient\SocketClient

    Create SIS Package: self-signed

    Clean Steps
    Make: make.exe clean -w in C:\MyQtAppSymbian\SocketClient\SocketClient

    Well, like I said, I don't know about Creator -- never used it for Symbian.

    Somewhere do you specify what .pkg file to use to build the .sis?

    Hi,

    Qt Creator doesn't have any direct option to make a sis, instead you have to use makesis tool of symbian to make a sis out of the pkg file.

    Check this article : http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...r_With_Symbian

    Best regards,

    Re: Qt Creator will not build for device: SYSTEMINCLUDE path not found

    Thank you, all, for your suggestions which were mostly followed. The "build settings" were very useful to verify my settings were correct. I downloaded Qt Creator 2.0.1 and testing identified the problem: If the statement
    VERSION = 1.2
    is included in the .pro file, the build will fail. It will succeed with the variant:
    VERSION = 1.2.0
    Of course, it will work without it too! Thanks again!

    Re: Qt Creator will not build for device: SYSTEMINCLUDE path not found

    Amazing!! Of course much of the QMAKE lashup is chewing gum and bailing wire, and likely when they parse "VERSION" they aren't tolerant of formatting errors, but it woudl be nice if there were a better diagnostic.
