    jad parameter MIDlet-Next-URL

I install my app w/o a problem from the browser of the phone.
But when I add a jad parameter "MIDlet-Next-URL: ...some link...", It gives installation error. What can you say about that jad parameter?

    Thanks and regards?

    Re: jad parameter MIDlet-Next-URL

you have to rename that JAD attribute - you cannot use non-standard attributes starting with MIDlet-.
Just name it like "Next-URL" and you are fine

    The MIDP specification states following
"A predefined set of attributes is specified to allow the application management software to identify, retrieve, and install the MIDlet(s). All attributes appearing in the descriptor file are made available to the MIDlet(s). The developer may use attributes not beginning with MIDlet- or MicroEdition- for application-specific purposes. "

    Re: jad parameter MIDlet-Next-URL

Thanks for your reply. But I thought that It is a special parameter. I assume that, after downloading the application via a browser by clicking on the jad file, It redirects the browser to the given link.

Isn't there such attribute like these? Or is there a different parameter to be used for the same purpose.

    thanks and regards.

    Re: jad parameter MIDlet-Next-URL

The available / standard attributes can be found in the MIDP specification - see for example here
    http://library.forum.nokia.com/topic...e-summary.html
MIDlet-Next-URL is not listed in there.

for what purpose? Getting the JAR? That's MIDlet-Jar-URL. Or url for a page for more information about the MIDlet? That's MIDlet-Info-URL.

    Re: jad parameter MIDlet-Next-URL

Thank you very much. Can you give me more detail about the parameter MIDlet-Jar-URL?

I will insert it to the jad file. for example:

    MIDlet-Jar-URL: http://discussion.forum.nokia.com

Then, when will this link be called?

This must be the URL of the JAR file that contains the MIDlet or MIDlet suite described by these attributes. This can be jar available on the local device while installing or the jar available on the remote server.

    Re: jad parameter MIDlet-Next-URL

I am very sorry. I asked the wrong parameter. I want to ask MIDlet-Info-URL parameter.

What happens If I insert the parameter and the value below:

    MIDlet-Info-URL: http://discussion.forum.nokia.com

    Thanks.

    Re: jad parameter MIDlet-Next-URL

Good question. I guess that the only situation when it (MIDlet-Info-URL) is called is when (or if) the user asks to see more information about the MIDlet during the installation process. I am not sure though about this...
