Sqlite3 symbian library does it have FTS (Full Text Search) support

    Hi all

A few days back i was having problems searching from my sqlite database. But i would like to hopefully discuss one of those issues today and get your advice and feedback.

My database was approx 40mb in size and in contained some FTS (Full Text Search) tables to enable faster searching for some of my full text queries. This database has been used on other OS platforms and has worked fine, but this database didnt work on my symbian device (Nokia 5800)

Once i deleted the FTS tables my search queries started to work? Even the my '%like%' queries were decently fast.

Anyways my question is...does the sqlite3 library for symbian support FTS? is that why originally my database was not searchable?

    Thanks in advance.

Supposedly FTS is supported. FTS 1&2 have been deprecated, though. http://www.sqlite.org/fts3.html

For a project I did we used a binary radix tree instead, to implement a sort of KWIC index. It added about 30% to the size of the DB but enabled hierarchical searching.

Thanks for your reply, do you know if the sqlite3 library used on Nokia devices has been compiled with FTS3/4 support? or will i have to compile a custom version of the library?
