[moved, was] Re: How to get the Cell ID?

    hi,
I'm new to LBS, I'm using Nokia 5230 s60 5rd edition mobile device for testing.
    I want to know ,

    1. System.getProperty("microedition.location.version") == null is the method to check whether it is GPS enabled or not?
    2. Is it possible to get CELL-ID from my device?
    3. If CELL-ID is possible, i want to get lat long value from CELL-ID and display it in map?.. so, I want to get CELL-ID and LAC value from my mobile and then convert in to lat long value..?

please help me or suggest any ideas..

    Thanks in advance,
    kumar

Extracted your post from http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...et-the-Cell-ID, which was a 6.5 years old thread (there was no GPS in the devices that time), and it was about Symbian C++.
