    Screen lock/unlock

Is it possible to built a screen locker/unlocker with FL?

I was consulting the service API and saw that all display methods (exception setInfo on wallpaper) are read only.

    Any ideas?

    Re: Screen lock/unlock

Thanks for the answer rahulvala, but I'm not talking about orientation of the screen.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I'm talking about an application who takes the control when the user is innactive for a while, then when the user try to return, he needs to put some password to get back to use the phone.

    Re: Screen lock/unlock

    Hi Atila Correia,
According to my knowledge, there is no such API in Flash Lite yet .The algorithm of this program is somewhat like this :
1- Get User Inactivity (possible), if it crosses certain limit switch the FL app to foreground (AFAIK not possible)
2- Capture all the keys including red/green/menu/camera key to take control of phone. (not possible)
3- After user enters the password, remove the capturing of keys and switch app to background (possible).
So, for not possible things we can simply extend API Bridge or write our own local server in Symbian C++ to use it via Flash Lite. Or we can use Qt for the development of this application.

    Hello Saji,

I'm already moving to Qt development. I heard some rumors about FL losing space and the only way is AIR on Android devices.
At the Nokia Developer Summit there was no lectures of FL, only Qt and Web with Java and other technologies( html5, css, javascript ).

It's sad because FL is very productive and give a lot of beautiful effects and transitions to UI, compared to other technologies.

I also started working with Qt from almost 4 months. Flash Lite 4 is a great technology but i dont why there is not so much discussion around. Few things i observed when i decided to create an accelerometer game in FL4:
1- No support for multi-touch events.
2- No way to lock the screen in AS 3. Why we need accelerometer APIs then ?
3- Fine! WRT is a recommended way to distribute Flash Lite 4 contents. But accelerometer APIs dont work when we embed it into WRT.
However, It is still easy to learn and develop cross-platform mobile apps via Flash. I am still a big fan of Flash and yes! loving Qt in place of Symbian C++
