Regarding not properly downloading the .jar file extension

I had uploaded my application in our server and we start download to use it on the mobile phones. In S60 Series the application is downloading as a JAR and installed properly, but when i download the S40(Nokia 5130 Express music, Nokia 2730c) application it is not as JAR File extension.
For S60 Series i have tested the following models
    • Nokia5230
    • Nokia5250
    • Nokia 5320 Express Music

For S40,the application is downloaded with the extension .EXT . While downloading the application I had tried to rename the application extension .ext as .jar. After downloaded it is with extension was filename.jar.ext.

Is this problem is in our server or with the S40 Series of NOKIA Mobile?
Regarding this if you had any suggestion or link then please post it here.
    Please help me.

Hi and welcome to the Forum Nokia Discussion Boards,

Yeah that can be the issues with the server, but before committing that you must make that sure by testing this on the multiple Jar files. If this happens then there is the issues with the server, in fact you can have another S40 device to test the same.

AFAIK, OTA download must not be the issue with either of the series of the devices.
    Thanks with Regards,

Re: Regarding not properly downloading the .jar file extension

Most definitely sounds like a web server configuration error. Start by making sure that either the server, or the script delivering the files, sends the correct MIME headers for jar and jad file types:
