PLEASE HELP - deployment of widget

    I´m relly desperate!
I have a problem, with deployment of widget in my Aptana studio.
    I followed this way ( http://www.forum.nokia.com/Develop/W...p_4_Test.xhtml ),
but when i choose "widget deployment settings" a
don´t see any emulator there, and conected phone is also invisible. So I can´t deploy a widget!
I tried to "package the files with ZIP-utility software and change the extension of the ZIP file to *.wgz"
but i cant install that on my mobile phone, it allerts an error.
I have worked weeks on my aplication but i can´t deploy it now...

First make sure that you have installed S60 SDK in your system.

I seen the installation errors mainly happening when there is something wrong with the info file, so re-check that you have made it correctly.

somnathbanik - I´ve installed Nokia Qt SDK and Nokia Web SDK, so I´ll try to instal s60 SDK

symbianyucca - I think, that this is not this case, because, when i take an example widget, from Nokia forum, ( Rss news demo widget)
and install it on my device, it works just fine...but when I open the same widget in Aptana studio, don´t change anything, and then save it this way ( "package the files with ZIP-utility software and change the extension of the ZIP file to *.wgz" ) , it can´t be installed

if you have Web SDK, you don't need a Symbian SDK, you can use teh simulator from the WEb SDK. AS well as you can use the Deployment of teh Web SDK to pack the widget. Also do try other zip applciation, for example anything that uses good old pkZip should work just fine.

ok, what about using the "package web app" option ? or "Preview Web app", I would consider it rather usual to try different options shown in the menu's..

Hooooraaayyyyy!!!!!!!....It´done, everything works great, the solution is simple, when i press "package web app" in web SDK, it makes a *.wgt file, which i couldn´t install. But when i press the same in Aptana, it makes a *.wgz file and the installation is without any problem. Thank you very much for your answers!!! I´m so happy right now

Re: PLEASE HELP - deployment of widget

Web SDK can also do wgz's. Anyway if you get wgt, then you are having a wrong target, thus you also have wrongly made info file. Thus you could maybe just manually check the files with notepad, and see what they have. Anyway, as you have a working Wgz, then try importing that to the Web SDK, then you should be ableto work with it without any problems really.
