Nokia 5530 Express Music is freezing

    Hi,

Is there anyone having problem with device freezing after some time of use?
Let me explaining: I have a J2ME app that works sending/receiving data from Socket connection (wifi) on Nokia 5530 xm.
After some time of use, and randomly, Nokia 5530 freezes completly, and the only way to get running again is removing the battery.
The app uses socket connections, bluetooth and touch screen during its life time.
Does anyony is having problem like this?
Any help will be very useful.

    Regards,

    Alexandre.

Try to monitor the memory needs of your application - it might be freezing due to memory spikes after running for a long time.

Alexandre, also let us know more about the app, what kind of GUI library are you using?
Was any alert/dialog/message shown by the device?

If you are keeping the received data on the heap then it may lead you out of memory error. Think a bit about the memory optimization in your app.
    Thanks with Regards,

    im2amit,
Yes, I inserted many logs (RMS) in my app using Runtime.getRuntime().freeMemory() trying to find memory leaks.

    raj_J2ME,
My J2ME is based on touch screen, and I'm using GestureRecognizer class base from Nokia samples inside some Canvas screens, there ins't any special GUI library.
The app uses RMS, socket over wifi, and prints some data using bluetooth. It´s a sales automation force app, not a game.
The same app, without touch screen recources, works fine on keypad devices, like Nokia 2690, 2730 and 2630.
About "memory optimization", I'm reusing many objects, like Forms, canvas screens, StringBuffer, etc..
I have some classes that use static methods, I'm thinking to turn these methods non statics.
Could you please explain "memory optimization" details that you guess interesting to think about?

    Thanks for both.

    Alexandre.
