    Nokia device file listing (OBEX)

    I been trying to get list of files from Nokia N70 using HeaderSet.TYPE= "x-obex/folder-listing". The only response I am getting is this XML and no list of files in the folder. I do have files in there.

    Obex XML String:<?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE folder-listing SYSTEM "obex-folder-listing.dtd"> <folder-listing version="1.0"></folder-listing>

    I have tried the following paths, but no use.

    file:///C:/data/Images
    file://
    C:/
    file:///phone memory/

    I am using following piece of code

    HeaderSet header = _ClientSession.createHeaderSet();
    header.setHeader(HeaderSet.TARGET, FBUiid);
    HeaderSet response = _ClientSession.connect(header);
    header = _ClientSession.createHeaderSet();
    header.setHeader(HeaderSet.NAME, folder);
    HeaderSet result = _ClientSession.setPath(header, false, false);
    header = _ClientSession.createHeaderSet();
    header.setHeader(HeaderSet.TYPE, "x-obex/folder-listing");
    Operation op = _ClientSession.get(header);

    Am I doing anything wrong here? Please guide me. Thanks.

    Re: Nokia device file listing (OBEX)

    You are connecting to 0x1106L which is not the correct service for a S60 2nd Edition device.
    00005005-0000-1000-8000-0002EE000001 is your friend.

    By the way, if you have problems with OBEX-FTP, try to debug this on a desktop computer and/or with another implementation first. You will find much more of such issues, having nothing to do with J2ME or your code.

    Re: Nokia device file listing (OBEX)

    Traud thanks for your help man.

    I am trying to access OBEX File Transfer: btgoep://00174B589F62:10 and I was using Folder Browsing UUID (F9EC7BC4-953C-11D2-984E-525400DC9E09). Now when I am trying to use the one that you gave me i.e. 00005005-0000-1000-8000-0002EE000001, it gives me this error : Invalid response from OBEX server OBEX_HTTP_NOT_FOUND.

    Please guide me through this.

    Re: Nokia device file listing (OBEX)

    Ok I finally found the solution to my problem. The configurations that actually works for Folder browsing are as follows:

    Nokia OBEX PC Suite Services: btgoep://<device id>:12;authenticate=true;encrypt=false;master=false
    Folder Browsing UUID (F9EC7BC4-953C-11D2-984E-525400DC9E09)

    and output will be something like

    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <!DOCTYPE folder-listing SYSTEM "obex-folder-listing.dtd"
    [ <!ATTLIST folder mem-type CDATA #IMPLIED>
    <!ATTLIST folder label CDATA #IMPLIED> ]>
    <folder-listing version="1.0">
    <folder name="C:" user-perm="RW" mem-type="DEV" label="Phone memory"/>
    <folder name="E:" user-perm="RW" mem-type="MMC" label="Nokia"/>
    </folder-listing>

    I hope it will help someone else out there.

    Yes, I meant the UUID on the Bluetooth layer. On the OBEX layer, everything stays the same (like the Connect-Target-UUID). Do not use hard-coded channel-IDs in your connection URL. Nokia Symbian devices change IDs frequently. Consequently, please, at least do a service search!
