[Moved] How to install platform spesific files

I found an instruction for installing platform spesific files for S60 fp2, but I was wondering if there is a safe way to identify every known platform. (Advanced Package File options)

I took a look what sis files are in C7 (Symbian^3) folders and for example Series60v5.0.sis can be found.

So is there a way to identify 3rd, fp1, fp2, 5th, Symbian^3 platforms in pkg file?

The S60 platforms can be identified reliably, just use ELSE clauses, and use a descending order (so check for S60 5th first, then S60 3rd FP2, etc.). Symbian^3 might be an exception, I have not checked the files (since it is a public location, any 3rd-party file manager should be able to access it, or you can also create some small code listing the files from there).

The best way to find out the package pls install it and then try because it is common among 3.1 platform and above

    Series60v5.0.sis, Series60v5.1.sis and Series60v5.2.sis exists in C7
    Series60v5.0.sis exists in N97

Can I rely that 5.1 and 5.2 will exists in every Symbian^3 device and not in any 5th edition?

Apparently Symbian^2 and Symbian^3 are simply referred as S60 5.1 and 5.2 respectively, so the identification method is as simple as you depict.

Dineshsainijpr32 might have wanted to refer to the backward compatibility between the platforms, or something like that.
