Access to the integrated Address Book?

Is there any possiblity to access the phone`s built-in address book through a J2ME midlet. If though, can I modify entries? Is there a corresponding API?

For your answers thank you very much in advance!

    Hello

With TextBox using TYPEs: PHONENUMBER or EMAIL you can see search command in options menu, which will allow you to fetch information from phonebook by selecting name.
If this is not working in your device,
this could be feature in latest software versions in where this is added.

You can not modify anyhow phonebook anyway.

    Answer

Oxygen Phone Manager acesses the mobile externally and hence can look at anything inside.

MIDlets run in sandbox security model and cannot access/querry calendar entries, sms entries, phone book entries, etc.

Oxygen Phone Manager querries the phone via other APIs than MIDlets use.

    Hope this helps..
