    Java Sign

    Hi!

    I have 3 questions.
    1. What is the exact process for signing j2me applications. I saw here [http://www.forum.nokia.com/Distribut...signing.xhtml],
there said FREE, but I thought that I should pay some money for signing a java application.
    2. If for example I pay some money for signing for 1 year, How long can my applications run which is signed in this period (1 year)?
    3. How can I sign my application written in java for Java phones via Nokia, I mean I want my java application be Nokia Signed.

In these 2 questions, I am not talking about emulator, It's for real phone.

    Thanks very much.

Amit===> If you want to distribute your app thu OVI as a publisher, then it can be signed for FREE.
    2. If for example I pay some money for signing for 1 year, How long can my applications run which is signed in this period (1 year)?
Amit===> It can be downloaded & installed on the device as a trusted (Signed) app for 1year time.

Amit===> You need to have business relations with Nokia for this, just OVI publisher A/c will not help here.

    thanks,

It is not necessary to follow thre UTC (JavaVerified) process to sign an application!

What do you want to achieve by signing your application?

Are you planning to distribute your application on the Ovi store?

A good introduction to signing can be found in the wiki.

Do not pay any money unless you know what you are getting, and unless you know it will solve your problem!

Signing is a complicated area, and is best avoided if at all possible!
