    Cool NOT MMAPI

Hello , i want my application to record live voice as well as play back it at the same time using j2me.

Using MMAPI i can not do this as it can not create 2 players at the same time.

Moreover , i can not use javax.sound.sampled package in j2me.

So,is there any other option for recording voice in j2me....?

i have to use j2me for this.

    Plz reply .....

otherwise i will fail to submit my college project...

    Re: NOT MMAPI

There is no rule of MMAPI that says you cannot create two Players. The particular limitations will depend on the device. Many devices will allow multiple Players, but I cannot tell you if any will allow an audio capture and audio playback Player at the same time.

You could try using a different API for playback: many devices (such as Nokia) have proprietary APIs for audio playback. I'm afraid it will be a matter of experimentation.

    Thumbs up Re: NOT MMAPI

    Thnx...

Actually i need this facility for "PHONE CALL USING BLUETOOTH" in which i must have 2 players
(1 for continuas recording & 2nd for playiing received voice).

Do u think Nokia Proprietry API will work on all Nokia Mobile phones...?

if yes, then plz provide me some links from where i can start developing....

As i have never used this before and new to mobile programming.

and if possible plz confirm will it support both recording & playing simultaneously...?

    plz reply as usual.

Check the Nokia Developers' Library, and look for the com.nokia.mid.sound package.

I can promise that it won't record sound. If MMAPI on your device won't let you play and record at the same time, you might be able to play with the Nokia API while recording with MMAPI. I can make no guarantee whatsoever. But it is the only alternative I can suggest you try.

You could achieve this without simultaneous record and play, by making it work "walkie-talkie" style. I strongly recommend you do this, as I doubt you will be able to record and play at the same time.
