    {
    // Create a window for this application view
    CreateWindowL();

    SetRect(aRect);

    TBuf<20> file(_L("HelloWorld"));
    CAknInformationNote* informationNote;
    informationNote = new (ELeave) CAknInformationNote;

    Re: display hello world on screen

    I moved this to the General Symbian C++, since this is not really an issue that should be in the feedback, thus in future, please try using correct places for queries.

    Anyway, what about calling the ActivateL(); before making the note. Also try using debugging to see what lines are getting executed.

    Re: display hello world on screen

    i tried with the code & displayed the information note when i putted it after ActivateL(). Well showing it in appview.cpp should not be an issue i suppose.Also it is view class i suppose derived from CCoeControl right.

    Re: display hello world on screen

    So should you really be showing the note when the parses does something ? Anyway, for that kind of debugging, I would suggest using Global notes. they are easier to get showing a desired time, as well as they are shown in own window, so they show a bit easier than "normal" local-notes.

    Re: display hello world on screen

    I would think that using a normal application framework application is simpler. Anyway, I usually use a simple editor as a screen when debugging an API, example for it can be found from: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...tepad_wiki.zip you could basically just remove the notepad handling from it, and then add your code, and use the debugging into the editor..
