    Question ¿Free certificates?

    Hi there,

I've been having some trouble developing an app in Qt for my N97 device.

Last week i've been playing with PyS60 and I could do very simple applications that listen to incoming messages and stuff. But now i'm trying develop some simple apps with Qt (I downloaded Nokia Qt SDK with Mobility) and I've read that I need some capabilities (ReadDeviceData, WriteDeviceData, and others) in order to listen for incoming messages and I need to sign my application with a certificate.

My question is simple: is this right? And if it is, is there a way to obtain a free certificate and a key to sign my applications? (In Qt creator there's the option under Build tab in Project window to select a custom .cert and .key files).

    Re: ¿Free certificates?

You can use Open Signed Online on http://www.symbiansigned.com
Or you can join the Ovi Publisher program (which is not free, but costs 1 EUR), and you can get offline certificates for 5 devices. Details in Distribute above, check "Packaging and signing" for example.
