    How to get Push 2 Talk settings

    Hi;

    I am trying to develop Push to Talk client for Symbian S60 3rd FP1 phones. How can I get the Push 2 Talk settings(Server IP, User name, Password, etc)?

    Or

    How can I read configuration SMS that sent from operator? I could not read the sms content with the traditional ways in wiki.

    Thanks

    Thank you nayan_trivedi;

    I have registered for P2T to operator. I can use native P2T client on the phone and see the settings ip, username, password with asterix characters. But I don't know how to get these settings programatically for my client.

    For reading sms from inbox, I can read text sms but I can not read configuration sms.

    Why you want to do this..?

    Means which type of application you are developing ?

    Give some more idea.

    Not certain if the API would be available in public SDKs, thus if you can not find any API for the task from the public SDK, nor from the API plug-in, then you could always try out the paid technical support for help.

    Re: How to get Push 2 Talk settings

    As I know p2t client use sip protocol and there are open source sip projects on internet.
    I think some how, P2T client can be developed by tracing traffic, etc. To trace the traffic I need sip settings for my client. Server IP, username, can be seen from the settings, but password is in asterix characters.

    I think there are two ways to get settings,
    First one is P2T settings file, I don't know where it is stored.
    Second one is configuration sms which is sent by operator for P2T configuration. I could not read the configuration sms from inbox, although I can read text messages.

    There are SIP API-s in the SDK if that is what you are asking. Also there is an example, it is called SIPExample.

    Thank you. I know the example. And I have another sip client source code that I am trying to implement.
    In my case, I want to use operator P2T server, so I need to know P2T account setting to communicate with server. My problem is how to read these operator settings.

    Maybe I should contact with the operator to get username, password and other settings.

    According to this: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...vice_providers, you may have to dig into the source code (Symbian^3 is open source, you can get FTP access as described on http://symbian.nokia.com), or go for technical support (Support link at the bottom of this page).

    Thank you wizard_hu_;

    I should work on this more.

    I had tried to get FTP access few months ago, but they said that they do not give ftp account to third party developers.

    It matters if it happened before mid-December, or after. The Symbian Foundation site got closed down then, and this 3rd-party FTP access was established then.

    If I am not wrong, I had requested the account a few days after the Symbian Foundation site got closed down.

One for the totally public stuff (which was visible to any passers-by on the SF site), and one for the "everyday member" stuff (stuff which was available for everyone, but still required being logged in, as an implied license agreement).

    so I do not think that my FNC status would have mattered (at least I have not mentioned it, and used a different e-mail address than what I use here).
