Post overlaying two images on canvas, one with transparent background

    suppose i load a file as a background: bg=graphics.Image.open(sumthing)
and another image with shapes on it im = Image.new(size=(w,h))
    im. line((bla bla))

what want to achieve is that the line drawn should be overlayed on the background image. but i dont want to modify the bg object(i.e. i dont want to call bg. line((bla bla)) instead)

now, if i blit bg and then im respectively on canvas, the result is a line on white background.... i dont want the white background. how do i do that?
