Problems with Qt SDK 1.1 Beta

    Hello,

I had installed Qt SDK 1.1 TP earlier (apps worked fine with Qt 4.7.1 installed on phone) and then installed Beta a week back, with Qt 4.7.2 & QtMobility 1.1.0 installed on my X6 device. I tried to build our app using Qt 4.7.2 for Symbian^1 (rel) but failed to do so (no compile-time errors, but sis file's not generated), here are the errors:

    Code:
Patching package file and relevant binaries...
    make[1]: Leaving directory `D:/ProjectDir/MyProject'
d:/qtsdk11/Symbian/SDKs/Symbian1Qt472/epoc32/release/gcce/urel/MyProject.exe cannot be copied for patching. at D:\qtsdk11\Symbian\SDKs\Symbian1Qt472\bin\patch_capabilities.pl line 229, <PKG> line 20.

ERROR: Automatic patching failed at D:\qtsdk11\Symbian\SDKs\Symbian1Qt472\bin\createpackage.pl line 357.
    make[1]: *** [ok_sis] Error 2

    D:\qtsdk11\Symbian\SDKs\Symbian1Qt472\epoc32\tools\make.exe: *** [sis] Error 2
The process "D:\qtsdk11\Symbian\SDKs\Symbian1Qt472\epoc32\tools\make.exe" exited with code 2.

Error while building project MyProject (target: Symbian Device)
When executing build step 'Create SIS Package'
So I built it using the previous Qt setup (Qt 4.6.3), all Qt apps behave strangely on device now! On selecting any of the options in the app menu it hangs, the UI controls are misplaced n messed up. How can I solve this?

    Same problem...
It looks that the problem exists only when QtMobility is in use...I'm trying to send a SMS...
I would really happy to get a solution...

Re: Problems with Qt SDK 1.1 Beta

d:/qtsdk11/Symbian/SDKs/Symbian1Qt472/epoc32/release/gcce/urel/MyProject.exe cannot be copied for patching
According to the message above the exe file was not generated and therefore the SIS creation process fails. There must have been some error ealier in the build, something you (and maybe the IDE too) have missed among the many warnings.

Have another look at and/or post the full output so we can have a look at it.

First of all thanks for helping...

I will post my errors :
When I run on simulator everything is working (compiled and is running).
When I try on the mobile ( 5800 Music Express ) I got this errors :

Hello danysz, it's a little late to reply to your query, you might have solved your sis generation problem by now.

Re: Problems with Qt SDK 1.1 Beta

    Hi,

faced pretty much similar problem. "ERROR: Automatic patching failed at ...\createpackage.pl line 357." And in my case it was due capabilities and self-signed application. I removed device data capabilities and then I got the application built/installed.

    symbian:TARGET.CAPABILITY = NetworkServices \
    LocalServices \
    ReadUserData \
    WriteUserData \
    UserEnvironment
    #TO BE REMOVED ReadDeviceData \
    #TO BE REMOVED WriteDeviceData
    }

Re: Problems with Qt SDK 1.1 Beta

If those capabilities are really needed by your application, it will not work properly after such removal. In this cases the recommended approach is to make sure that you have a valid developer certificate and take it into use.
