Can't submit zip file for Certified Signed

Hello friend, when I submit my zip file(including sis, readme.txt and pkg file) into SymbianSigned for Certified Signed, it always popup "Unknown VID: Check that all VIDs used in your SIS file correspond to those allocated to you by Symbian".

I don't know how I can get my VID? Can I just ignore the VID section in my mmp file? BTW, my application requires manuafacture capabilities.

    Thanks for your reply.

You can safely comment/remove the VendorID line in your .mmp file.

Thanks Wizard. It works. But in the next step, it shows following error:

"The SIS file you have submitted contains capabilities that you are not permitted to sign with. The SIS file you submitted uses the capabilities:
    AllFiles
You should read the sections in the Guide to Symbian Signed which talk about Phone Manufacturer Capabilities. The Guide to Symbian Signed is available here. "

The reason why I chose Certified Signed via test house is just to get AllFiles capability. Could you tell me how I can get it?

    Thanks.

Should I use the entry nokia.symbiansigned.com ? If yes, how can I get the username and password for that entry?

Manufacturer approval means that you contact the manufacturer in advance, and request the capabilities. You will have to reason why you need the capability, there is no automation. In fact, there is some kind of automation for disapproval: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph..._these_reasons
As I know the request itself happens via the SymbianSigned profile, though the request form seems to be available in the Wiki (http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...and_Documents)

Thanks Wizard for your quick response.

You said "As I know the request itself happens via the SymbianSigned profile", what does this mean? What's the "SymbianSigned profile"?

If I fill the request form (CapabilityRequestForm_1_3.doc), who I will send it to? (I want to request the approval from Nokia)

    Thanks.

Unfortunately I do not know. I remembered this process: http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.n..._0_en.pdf.html, but the site has changed.

Not actually knowing the current way on doing this, anyway, I suppose emailing to symbian.signed@nokia.com, might get some better answers.

The site has changed but not that much, the form for requesting access to manufacturer controlled capabilities is still available at the same location idicated in slide #3 (at the bottom of the "request devcert" page)

It has changed a lot from the viewpoint of someone who has no Publisher ID
So in the old days even I could see how to request manufacturer capabilities, and now I do not see the related fields.
Anyway, if they are there, Fountain999 should have encountered them. Assuming that he was going to test the application prior to having it signed.

    There's always a trick somewhere, isn't it?
