Switching from Maemo to Meego : Installation and more

    Hi,

I have developed Qt GUI application for Maemo 5. I installed Maemo SDK using following link:

    http://wiki.maemo.org/Documentation/Maemo5_Final_Installation

I used Xephyr X11 to run Qt applications created and followed this link for Qt development on Maemo
    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.php/Installing_Qt_and_running_demos_in_Maemo_5_SDK

I want to port same application on Meego now and I am new to it. How should I start ?
Is this link given below sufficient to start with development ?

    http://wiki.meego.com/MeeGo_SDK_with_Xephyr

Do I need to make changes in my Qt code ?

Can application development for both maemo and meego be done in parallel manner ?

    Kindly provide some information.

Long story short: this forum is devoted to Qt SDK and Maemo 5 SDK questions, all questions related to MeeGo SDK should be asked on http://forum.meego.com/.

Since you say you used Xephyr I assume you're working on Linux, so see http://wiki.meego.com/SDK/Docs/1.1/G..._SDK_for_Linux

MeeGo doesn't use Scratchbox, so if you need platform level stuff, that's going to make things a bit more difficult. If you only want to do application development, however, things are a lot better, after installing targets from the above link, they should appear in your regular Qt SDK install, and you should be able to actually get to producing .rpm-s. Of course at this point such combinations are far from stable or supported but still, for evaluation purposes they might be interesting.

I am following the steps in the link you mentioned. However, on my way, I am facing certain problems with QEMU images. I have already coded my application and I just want to run it on Meego platform as I did for Maemo using Xephyr.

Earlier, I followed steps given in this link : http://wiki.meego.com/MeeGo_SDK_with_Xephyr and
    http://wiki.meego.com/SDK/Docs/1.0/H...pment_on_Linux
I created hello world application and other Qt demo apps, but they did not run as smoothly as it does for Maemo in Xephyr.
Are the above mentioned links not sufficient ?
