    Markable contacts display

    Is it possible to invoke the default Contact list selection like the one invoked from phone's messaging application from my QT application. If yes, how can I get the set of marked contacts as an array.

    If this is not possible, and I manually retrieve the contacts using QContactManager class, I need to display it as a list with check box and add the selected contacts to an array of contacts. How may I proceed with this.

    Thanks

    Try CPbkMultipleEntryFetchDlg.

    Re: Markable contacts display

    Hi
    I found this info which I can use.

    But this link http://library.forum.nokia.com/index...54596F5AD.html
    marks the API as deprecated.

    My platform is QT Creator RC1.1 on win7 Pro. I cant find the required library files for the same as well.

    Is is possible to create a variable number of checkboxes in QT depending on the number of contacts in PhoneBook. So I can retrieve name and assign it to checkbox name and hence may be markable.

    Thanks

    Re: Markable contacts display

    Deprecated and unusable are two different things. In fact cpbkmultipleentryfetchdlg.h in Symbian^3 SDK does not contain this marker. Missing headers and libraries are safe to pick from compatible (with your device) Symbian SDK-s. This is the Symbian C++ answer for your question.
    For the Qt part, I am moving this thread to the Qt for Symbian board.

    you might not be able to re-use the contact view directly from your Qt application and it is not recommneded to use Symbian Specific code.
    If this is not possible, and I manually retrieve the contacts using QContactManager class, I need to display it as a list with check box and add the selected contacts to an array of contacts. How may I proceed with this.

    you might want to create you own mulitselection list using QListView

    Re: Markable contacts display

    Thank you

    Regarding the scrollable check boxes question, I was able to make dynamic number of check boxes. Attaching code below.

    class CheckBoxes
    {
    public:
    QCheckBox *checkbox;

    };
    check = new CheckBoxes[number];
    QList<QString>::iterator i;

    for(i=temp.begin(); i != temp.end(); ++i)
    {
    check[count].checkbox = new QCheckBox(ui->listWidget);
    check[count].checkbox->setObjectName(QString::fromUtf8("checkBox"));
    check[count].checkbox->setText(*i);
    count++;
    }
    Am stuck on how to make the area scrollable.
