    Description formatting (linebreaks, bold, italic)

Is there a way to format app descriptions?

The least I expect is linebreaks. Is there a way to get it to show? In the publisher pages linebreaks mostly show (although they did disappear after certain edits), but in the public app page the text run continuous.

Less important but also nice would be bold and italic.

    Nokia guys, can you comment?

It's an important thing to have, unless the idea is for descriptions to be no more than glorified taglines.
Even starting with just linebreaks would be a big an improvement.

    Hi jrez,

Unfortunately linebreaks and ability to modify the fonts on the publisher page is not yet supported. We thank you for your suggestions and will advise the Ovi Development team to look into having this feature in the next Ovi Store release.

If there is any other issue you may have please contact Ovi Publisher Support team at PublishtoOvi.Support@nokia.com.

I hope linebreaks are a high priority item.

    Thanks Ron and Emma.

Linebreaks show in the user side since some time ago. Looks like there were changes recently?

But oddly the admin-side editor is still half-broken. It still visually removes linebreaks when completing description editing, but it still does appear to retain them logically. To get it to show correctly on the admin side, I hit edit again, cancel, and it shows with linebreaks.

Yes, the supporting of line-breaks had been implemented recently in the latest store client. I'm curious to know about this issue you mentioned about with the Nokia Publish tool. I've attempted to enter a description with line breaks with a new content item as well as an existing one and it appears to be formatted correctly.

    Could you elaborate?

Re: Description formatting (linebreaks, bold, italic)

I just tested to see when it happens. On an existing item I added a new description translation. Saving the new description the first time works okay. Editing and saving after the 1st time it's shown without linebreaks, at least admin-side. With linebreaks visually gone, editing again but choosing "cancel" shows them correctly again. This was checked on FF3.
