Question "Invalid application Delete?" all S60 devices.

    Hi all,

I've been offering Java apps for two years now, and thought I could also put them on Ovi Store. So I submitted my first app, whcih consequently got stuck in QA...

This is what I got from them:

SUMMARY: Error message "Invalid application Delete?" pops up when launching.
EXPECTED RESULT: The application is properly launched and no error message is displayed.
    AFFECTED DEVICES: All S60 devices.

Browsing through this board I found that it might be a problem in JAD and MF files. However, the app installs and runs perfectly on my friend's E71... I've also checked the requirements for JAD and MF, and also couldn't find a problem. Here are my files:

    JAD:

MIDlet-1: Volxbibel 3.0 De Go Bible, Icon.png, GoBible
MIDlet-Name: Volxbibel 3.0 De Go Bible
    MIDlet-Icon: Icon.png
    MIDlet-Jar-Size: 607963
    MIDlet-Jar-URL: Volxbibel3.0De.jar
    MIDlet-Info-URL: http://wap.heidoc.net/
    MIDlet-Vendor: Jan Krohn
    MIDlet-Version: 2.4.1
    MIDlet-Data-Size: 100
    MicroEdition-Profile: MIDP-2.0
    Go-Bible-Info: www.volxbibel.com, www.heidoc.net Ver. 2.4.1
    Go-Bible-Align: Left

    MF:

    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    MIDlet-Vendor: Jolon Faichney
    Go-Bible-Align: Left
    MIDlet-Version: 2.4.1
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    MicroEdition-Configuration: CLDC-1.0
MIDlet-1: Volxbibel 3.0 De Go Bible, Icon.png, GoBible
    Go-Bible-Info: www.volxbibel.com, www.heidoc.net
    MIDlet-Data-Size: 100
    MIDlet-Icon: Icon.png
MIDlet-Name: Volxbibel 3.0 De Go Bible
    MicroEdition-Profile: MIDP-2.0

If you want to try, the app is available for download:
    http://www.heidoc.net/volxbibel/vxb2-3.zip

Any help on this would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Jan

MIDlet-Vendor attribute should have same values in JAD & JAR, pls check that. Also verify MIDlet-Jar-Size: 607963

Thanks! Actually, I pasted the wrong version of the *.jad by mistake... Sorry. MIDlet-Vendors are the same of course. The Jar size is also correct. So any more ideas? :-)

    Thanks,

Re: "Invalid application Delete?" all S60 devices.

Can you post the correct JAD, please?

    * Your manifest has two Manifest-Version attributes.
    * Your JAD has MicroEdition-Profile, but no MicroEdition-Configuration - I'd suggest you have both or neither, not just one.
    * I'd recommend removing MIDlet-Data-Size, or make it much bigger (never make is smaller than 4096).
    * Are you sure CLDC-1.0 is correct?
    * Prefix the icon paths with a "/".
    * Don't put two "." characters in the JAD or JAR filename.

    Graham.

Re: "Invalid application Delete?" all S60 devices.

I cannot really pinpoint the problem, but at least your Manifest file contains Manifest version twice (I do not think that this is the problem though...)

The next two ones are complete guesses:
Could you please try to remove the Go-Bible-Info attribute from both JAD an Manifest (why are they btw different in JAD and Manifest?) I am just wondering if the comma in there makes a difference...
Also could you try to use a single word as a MIDlet-1 name (like "Volxbibel" instead of "Volxbibel 3.0 De Go Bible").
