Re: Conference call

If it is possible, then it might be possible to figure it out by reading Symbian^3 source code and related documentation ( you can find a snapshot from http://sourceforge.net/projects/symbiandump/ or request access via http://symbian.nokia.com ).

If you find out how to do it on Symbian^3, it may not work exactly the same on earlier versions (Symbian 9.*).

Hi,

Search for the ETel core or ETel multimode API. The api are not public but it is discussed a lot on forum. You may find some related class like RCall, RPhone (RMobileCall, RMobilePhone from elem multimode)
Use Qt-Quick to make your application UI more attractive.

Re: Conference call

Hi

Conference call is also possible using Phone Client Extension API. Please see the following wiki article for multi party call

http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph..._Extension_API

These APIs can be found in SDK plug in pack till 3rd edition FP1. From 3rd edition FP2 these are made internal and can be obtained through partnering process.

Hope this helps.

Re: Conference call

Hi,

Now as you knw the api is not public, take the dump as petrib suggested and check whether RMobileConferenceCall class is there or not? you also need the etelmm library to compile your code.
Use Qt-Quick to make your application UI more attractive.

to use an api, you need a .lib, .h and if required then .dso.and i assume you would be very familiar to use an api.

Re: Conference call

Hi Manmay,

I dont know about any public API for doing this conference call or joining 2 calls.

But I have done it, it is possible. The thing that need to be done is when one call is on hold and 2nd call is active the user has to press, '3' (numeric 3 button) and call button and if your SIM and operator supports call joining, then the 2 calls will be joined into a conference call.

So for this two things need to be done. Telephony application need to be on forground, for that your application, if any, need to be put into background. You can find how to put an application in background here.

And then you have to simulate two key press events, i.e you have to simulte numeric '3' button press and call button press. How to simulate a key press event can be found here.

I hope this will solve your current problem.

Regards,
Sauvik

Re: Conference call

@sauvikds...

By mistake, you provided the same link (of sending app to background) in both the links.

@Manmay...

If required, key simulation can be found at
http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...ate_a_keypress

Re: Conference call

thx sauvikds for detailed description.......

according to you ...... if suppose party A calls Me ...... i receives the call and now Me and party A is connected.
now i put party A on Hold and i add a new call By pressing numeric Button 3 to party B. now Me and party B is connected and party A remains in Hold status.
now after taking some action party A and party B and Me should be connected .

my requirement is exactly the same.

can u please provide me some links / code for call conference .......... other part like application background or key capturing i can manage that .
also as u told that u had done it.....is it works for Symbian 3rd & 5th edition or symbian^3 ?????
Regards:
ManmayG
